Workshops and Events

Sometimes the solutions we need to solve social and environmental challenges need a different approach. I run various workshops to help organisations unlock their creativity and create positive impact they can be proud of.

I am also available to speak and moderate business events on social and environmental topics including balancing positive impact and profitability in business, B Corp and Doughnut Economics.

LEGO Workshops

I’m just going to come out and say it: the conversations around climate change and social injustice right now are exhausting.

Don’t get me wrong: I believe the issues we’re facing are incredibly serious. But our approach to the solutions can be filled with fun, positivity and hope.

So why not mix it up a bit?

Instead of relying on stats on biodiversity loss and natural disasters, I run sustainability workshops using LEGO.

Studies show that adult play fosters creativity, mental flexibility, and deep social connection – the exact ingredients we need to tackle society’s biggest challenges.

So why not swap PowerPoint slides for LEGO bricks to help your organisation map out ideas, tackle challenges, and build a vision for your business and the communities you work in.

Doughnut Economics Workshops

If you’re not familiar, Doughnut Economics is a concept developed by Kate Raworth, an economist and Senior Associate at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute. Put simply, it’s a framework for an economic model that operates within the limits of our planet’s resources and life-supporting systems while ensuring that nobody falls short on life’s essentials, such as food, housing, healthcare and political voice.

The name “Doughnut Economics” is inspired by the shape of a doughnut. The inner circle of the Doughnut represents the social foundation, which outlines the minimum standard of living that all people should have, including access to food, clean water, healthcare, education, and social equity.

The outer circle represents the ecological ceiling, which refers to the limits of the planet’s resources and its capacity to deal with human activity without causing irreversible environmental damage.

The aim of Doughnut Economics is to find a harmonious balance between these two circles.

I run one day workshops alongside my associate, Ali Fisher, for organisations who want to use the Doughnut model to unlock positive impact through their organisation.

Nancy and Ali both facilitated the session so beautifully – everyone seemed so engaged throughout and I personally learned a great deal and found it both inspiring and insightful.

There was a perfect balance between theory and action, hard-hitting facts and optimism to leave us feeling equal parts informed and galvanised to use our businesses as a greater force for good.

Every organisation would benefit from taking a day out to do this – it just makes sense!

The revelation of the day was the ‘Action Lab’ half of the title, moving from theory to practice. Nancy and Ali made the workshop fun, engaging and action focused.

I highly recommend this workshop to any business at any stage of their journey.
